Inciter des auteurs d’infractions à caractère sexuel incarcérés à se soigner

Abstract : The law of June, 17th 1998 related to the prevention and repression of sex offenses, which introduces therapy ordered by a judge in France, also introduces the notion of « therapy incitement » for the sex offenders incarcerated. They are gathered in specific penitentiaries equipped with a specialized care unity. In this paper, I describe and analyze the device and the strategy of various actors (the legislator, penitentiary staff, judges and therapists) to bring the sex offenders – who are not solicitors of therapy – in the therapist office. Then, I describe the techniques therapists use to modify the sex offenders' psyche, and to conduct them to think about themselves, demonstrate empathy and understand the sense of interdiction. The medicalization of sex offenders, between « risks management » and « tutelage of intimate », is a kind of authoritarian socialization, and therapists participate in the construction of contemporary subject who must think about oneself and manage his desires and behaviors.
