Abstract
There is no one single definition of the function of hospital manager. Moreover, the innovative modes of patient care and the new aspirations of staff member mean these managers must be able to adapt and rethink their managerial models. By analysing the characteristics of the healthcare environment and the content of these evolutions, structural trends can be identified.
