L'institutionnalisation d'une fonction d'expertise et de conseil auprès des élus du personnel

Abstract : Assessing the gradual acceptance of consulting by trade unions in big firms is a good method for analyzing the evolution of union practices. This article focuses on the resistance to this activity among trade union activists and the relative failure of an assessment function integrated within trade unions. It highlights the reversal of this situation, thanks to outsourcing to independent consulting firms. The consulting option is reinforced as a result of the instrumental nature conferred on it by being institutionalized in a specific field, distinct from union activities. The legitimacy of consulting has increased because it enables trade union representatives to compensate for the weakening of certain aspects of trade unions.
